Sara Mayer was born in Ried im Innkreis and received her first violin lessons there at the Landesmusikschule with Lisa Fruhwirth.
Graduated of the Musikgymnasium Linz, preliminary studies with Albert Fischer, later with Sabine Nova at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz. Bachelor studies with Werner Neugebauer at the University Mozarteum Salzburg, completed with distinction. Between February and June 2018 Erasmus at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Madrid with Ana Comesana. Baroque violin lessons with Elisabeth Wiesbauer and currently in master studies with Werner Neugebauer at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz.
Several first prizes at the national level at the youth music competition “Prima La Musica”. Orchestral experience including a temporary contract in the first violins in the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and as a substitute in the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Upper Austrian Mozartensemble, the Festival Sinfonietta Linz or the Johann Strauss Ensemble. She plays regularly concerts in folk music with the Radauer Ensemble. Since 2022 teaching activity at the Upper Austrian State Music School. Since 2022 second violin in the Constanze Quartet.
